Don’t ever do that. Please. Just don’t. It’s like you are saying: I will buy you a drink if you buy me one first.
So- don’t do it. You either pay for the drink because you want to or not. Don’t be cheap in real life and don’t apply that in the digital world as well.
It’s a lame approach and you can go in a totally different direction than what you want easily. If you want to follow someone in digital space because you like his content and you really really reeeealy wants him/her to follow you back- say something goddamnit! Open up! Don’ be lazy.
Simply write a polite letter, express yourself & explain yourself. People love honesty and real content. And if it’s a match the magic will happen! You’ll see. If not, at least you got a straight answer. Move forward and look for better prospects to share your values.
It’s far better to have 10 000 really honest, loyal to your brand, and true followers that 100K wrong ones: fake profiles, without any interaction or people who are based on the market that you actually don’t want to operate.
I.e. Let’s say you have “only” 2000 followers who are willing to pay for your service or product. Let’s say you are selling the live stream workout and the monthly subscription is $2. That means that you will be making 4 grand each month.
Don’t be this guy.
In digital space, it’s all about honesty, quality of conentent and engagement. Of course, there is no magic stick and you will have to work your but off to get real results, but when it happens it will be more and more easy for you to grow your business.
Algorithm and reach is changing from month to month and is getting more and more difficult to start all by yourself your digital footprint or quality reach on Insta.
The most difficult part is to reach 1K, then after reaching this milestone to get to 5K is going to be a little bit easier, that to reach 10K followers more easy etc… As long as you have smart content, valuable enough to make people visit or spend the time on your page you are good.
The good news is there are so many tactics on how to gain more followers on Insta.
- Post on a daily bases
- Respond to comments even if people don’t like your post or content
- Be polite
- Don’t be afraid to experiment
- Organize your highlights
- Be creative with Instastories
- If you can use Live igtv That would be great…
- Find relevant people in your niche, try to make some agreement about promoting your service or profiles
- If you are boosting posts try the bust after they reach their pick
- Don’t just send the emoticons to use real words- express yourself.

So, as you can see, none of these tactics include follow4follow… even if you are in the same space, asking just to follow it’s not enough, and people will feel like you are selling something to them and no one likes that.
The fact is:
Zero people are going to say NO to the opportunity that can benefit from. So, try to explain your digital existence in the best possible way, because there is no second chance to make a first impression right?
